Digital health and what it means for marketers

The digital tsunami has disrupted numerous industries in its wake. Marketing, PR, journalism, publishing, HR and customer service to name but a few that have, forever, been changed by technological innovation. The next industry to face this digital disruption is healthcare.

Everything from personal health and fitness apps we use on our smartphones, to more medical based technology such as digital health records in hospitals, to the ‘biohacking’ of our genomic data to improve our body’s performance are all changing how individuals treat and take responsibility for their health. For marketers, there is a real opportunity to take an early leadership position in digital health, and benefit from all the PR and marketing benefits that confers.  But we don’t think it will be long before this enters the mainstream.
